*Students for whom fees would be a barrier to participation, including those who currently qualify under the Federal School Lunch Act for the Free and Reduced Lunch program, may submit a request on school letterhead, signed by a teacher or administrator, that their fees be waived. Fee waivers must be mailed in with a signed copy of the contest entry form.
Students who are 12 years old or younger may not sign up or submit contest entries online. They should obtain a paper submission entry form at www.artandwriting.org and mail or deliver their signed entry forms, fees, and contest entries.
2017 Scholastic Winners
The winning students' writings from the Missouri Writing Region for the national Scholastic writing contest comprise each edition of Missouri Youth Write, a journal sponsored by the Missouri Council of Teachers of English.
The Missouri Regional Affiliate for the annual Scholastic Writing Awards Contest and Program is sponsored by University of Central Missouri, Greater Kansas City Writing Project, The Missouri Writing Projects Network, and the Missouri Association of Teachers of English.
