Missouri Writing Region Awards are announced. Award emails are sent to winners, inviting them, their families, and teachers to the state award ceremony at the Missouri Write-to-Learn Conference. Gold award pieces are forwarded for national judging.

Missouri Youth Write, an anthology of all works receiving Gold, Silver, or Honorable Mention awards, will be published online.

The latest edition features the collection of award-winning student material, including examples of fiction, poetry, essays and memoirs. In February students are honored at an awards ceremony as a part of the Write to Learn Conference at Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach, Missouri.

Pay the Contest Fee Online or Submit a Fee Waiver Request
Fees: $5.00 for each individual category submission and $20.00 for each portfolio submission.
Students for whom fees would be a barrier to participation, including those who currently qualify under the Federal School Lunch Act for the Free and Reduced Lunch program, may submit a request on school letterhead, signed by a teacher or administrator, that their fees be waived. Fee waivers must be mailed in with a signed copy of the contest entry form.

Students who are 12 years old or younger may not sign up or submit contest entries online. They should obtain a paper submission entry form at www.artandwriting.org and mail or deliver their signed entry forms, fees, and contest entries.
